The Apostle Peter revealed his purpose for writing this letter when he stated, “For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things … to stir you up by reminding you” (2 Peter 1:12, 13). Second Peter is God’s spiritual stimulus plan to stir his readers, including you, to greater spiritual devotion. Jude’s letter, originally intended to articulate the truths of salvation (Jude 3), was redirected by the Holy Spirit to confront an emerging heresy.
